Peanut Butter Frosting



12 tablespoons butter, softened

3/4 cup of creamy peanut butter

1 1/2 tablespoons heavy cream

1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/8 teaspoon salt

5 ounces powdered sugar, sifted

Mini Reese’s peanut butter cups, optional


  1. Beat butter, peanut butter, cream, vanilla and salt on medium-high until smooth. Reduce speed to low and add sugar and beat until incorporated, about 4 minutes.
  2. Increase speed to high and beat until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes.
  3. Put frosting into pastry bag and pipe onto cupcakes.
  4. Top with Reese’s peanut butter cups.
