Who doesn’t love a margarita!? Especially during the heat of the summer, nothing tastes better than a cold, icy beverage. There’s a local restaurant that serves these and the first time I had one, I knew I had to leave to make them at home. I hope you enjoy the recipe as much as I do!

Ingredients

Ice – enough to fill blender. I prefer bagged ice over ice from my ice maker

8 oz silver tequila

2 oz triple sec

8 oz cream of coconut – I have used both Coco Real and Coco Lopez

Juice from half of lime

Optional Ingredients

Shredded coconut – toasted in oven at 350°F for about 10 minutes or until golden brown and fragrant

Honey

Steps

  1. Fill blender full to the top with ice
  2. Add in the tequila, triple sec, cream of coconut and lime juice
  3. Blend until ice if blended and drink looks creamy
  4. Put a tablespoon of honey on a plate and coat the rim of the glass with it
  5. On a separate plate, put some shredded coconut and take the rim of the glass coated in honey and put it on the coconut, which will stick to the honey on the rim
  6. Pour the drink into the glass and enjoy
