Pinto beans are a staple in my house. We use them in meals several times a week. Canned beans are great in a pinch, however, I like homemade pinto beans so I can control the salt that goes into them. This is a simple recipe that makes about 4 cups of beans. I usually double this recipe and freeze leftovers for future use.
Ingredients
16 ounces dried pinto beans
48 ounces water
Salt to taste
Steps
1. Put pinto beans and water into crock pot.
2. Cook on low for 8 – 10 hours
3. Season to taste with salt
4. Use beans in your favorite recipe or freeze to use in the future
